Comments:

We are proud to offer this Lamborghini Miura P 400 which has been produced in

the Lamborghini factory in mid 1970 and registered to its first Italian owner on

the 21st of October 1970. It was ordered by its first owner in one of the most

attractive colour combinations available at the Lamborghini works. There are few

colours which we have in mind picturing or dreaming of the shape of a Miura:

first there is always the so called Miura verde (light green) and second there is

this famous Arancio. Lamborghini dared not only to decide for this dramatic

design drawn by the blood young genious Giuseppe Ghandini working for

Bertone. Lamborghini was as well brave enough to picture and offer the car in

bright yellow, orange, light green or light blue which caused a revolution in the

sportscar world.

According to the Lamborghini factory paperwork this Miura S on offer seems

to be the one and only Miura S Series II carrying the Arancio colour with its so

called unusual Senape/beige interior.

After its long and documented Italian history the Miura S Series II ended up in a

very sophisticated small Ferrari collection in North of Germany parting its garage

with a Lusso, 330 GTS and Daytona. The knowledgeable last owner decided to

go through a complete nut and bolt restoration which was carried out in one of

the most famous workshops in Hamburg. The complete technique was rebuilt by

the former Ferrari dealership Rothe by using only original Lamborghini spare

parts. By this the engine received the split sump which has been developed at

the works for the latest edition of the Miura SV. The engine and gearbox have

been rebuilt in the same way as they took attention for the suspension,

brakes and every single component. The whole effort shows a marvellous result.

Knowing about the problems old and untouched Miuras could have, we have to

admit that this late Miura S drives flawlessly and even at high speed exceeding

140 mph it is an amazing adventure which gives you the idea what kind of a

thoroughbred Ferruccio Lamborghini had invented - unbelievable.

The history of its development shows different stages which ended up with the

last edition known as the Miura SV.  The latest edition of the Miura S called

Series II started with the production number 501 and SN 4662 showing some

very important technical improvements compared to the first Miura P 400 and as

well to the Miura S. They received already the much stiffer frame, the inner

vented disc brakes and an improved new setting for the camshaft timing. This

revised cam timing came to mean that the P 400 S is considered to be the

fastest of all Miuras at top speed.

The Miura was the new rival for Ferrari in the sportscar market in the late sixties

and early seventies. The Chief engineer Gian Paolo Dallara had developed the

first mid engine sportscar for the road, showing the new technique and a

dramatic design which forced Enzo Ferrari to react years later with the

Ferrari 365 GT/4 BB.

The Miura will always be "the" main icon in the sportscar world.
