The 275 GTB/2 Shortnose has been manufactured in 1965 in Maranello and |
| delivered through the US main importer Luigi Chinetti Motors INC NY in May | |
| 1965 to its first owner Mr. Starr. |
| According to the Ferrari Lettera di Dati Produzione Vettura it had been ordered | |
| and sold in the colour combination of Grigio Argento 106-E-I Salchi with its very | |
| rare interior of Pelle orange, which was more a warm abricot/beige than a real | |
| orange. |
| It is as well confirmed by Ferrari that it retained its original frame and matching | |
| number engine. |
| The last US owner Philipp White/Atherton California commissioned a complete | |
| nut and bolt restoration on a very high standard. The restoration has been | |
| carried out by one of the well known Ferrari workshops in California. The car was | |
| stripped down to bare metal receiving a wonderful high quality paint job. The | |
| engine has been completely rebuilt as well as the suspension, brakes and most | |
| of the mechanical components. The interior has been done as perfect as | |
| possible in its original delivery colour pelle orange. The invoices were | |
| accumulated in total at an amazing 212.000,- USD. |
| The whole restoration has been carried out at an odometer mileage of 38 915 | |
| mls. We are talikng now about a mileage after our last test drive at 40 550 mls. | |
| That means that has not been driven more than 1 600 mls after its | |
| restoration. |
| Between 2006 and 2008 it was seen on a couple of Concours in the Pacific | |
| region. It received a Platinum Award at the highly appreciated Ferrari Concours | |
| of the Ferrari Club America.Showing as a result 98.5 points, missing just one | |
| point by not having a tool roll. |
| In 2010 it found a new home in Germany where it was frequently driven and | |
| always nicely maintained. |
| After having made some test drives we could testify that it is driving | |
| magnificently.. The engine has lots of torque and sounds great, the gearbox | |
| does not have any vibration and the syncros are working well shifting all gears | |
| faultlessly. The suspension and brakes are working as they should thanks to the | |
| restoration which has been carriid out. |
