Comments:

The 365 GT 2+2 has been produced in the works in 1970 and delivered in

January 1971 through S.A.V.A.F. Geneve to its first owner in Switzerland.

It is one of the last 365 GT 2+2 in the long production run of this model. It was

sold to its first and famous Ferrari enthusiast Dr. Peter F. Baumberger. Peter was

a lawyer and very successful business man based in Geneva. He was married

with Mrs. Dorrance, which inherited the famous Campbell Soup company in the

USA. By this Baumberger had two step sons with which he founded in 1967 the

Scuderia Three Bears which had taken place successfully on local races and

hillclimbs in Switzerland. In that time he ordered three 275 GTB/4 for his sons

and himself, one of those was an Alloy version which still is owned by the

Baumberger/Dorrance family.

The history of the Baumberger family has been published in an article written by

famous Ferrari historian Marcel Massini in the Cavallino magazin in October

1987. A copy of the article will accompany the archive file of our 365 GT 2+2.

The car will be accompanied by its original Bulletin De Garantie issued on Mr.

Baumberger by Ferrari. This is more than rare to receive an original Guarantee

card for a 52 year old Ferrari.. Beside this there are the original manual and the

original parts book in the archive file.

The 365 GT 2+2 has been for a while in Germany. In 2016 major work has been

carried out by one of the most appreciated Ferrari independent workshops in

Germany. Beside lots of other work the cylinder heads had been rebuilt. The

archive file shows invoices exceeding 40.000,-  Euros only in 2016.

It still has its original interior and dashboard in wonderful preserved condition.

We received in September 2020 the Lettera Dati Conferma by Ferrari confirming

to be full matching numbers of engine, gearbox and differential.

After having bought this 365 GT 2+2 we carried out some more major work in

our workshop. The gearbox had been rebuilt and lots of other maintenance work

was carried out. We replaced the wider Borrano wheels which are shown on the

pics with a new set of the correct Borrani RW 4075 wheels. The internal invoices

from November 2021 until April 2022 are at appr. 60.000,-  Euros.

The last engine leak down test shows perfect results.

After all this work carried out we can reassure the next enthusiast that he will

receive a car which drives and runs perfectly.
