Our new Ferrari 246 GT Dino has been delivered to its first Italian owner in 1971 |
carrying the beautiful colour Blu Dino Metalizzato with nero interior. In the early
eighties it appeared in Sweden with B.J. Ohman/ Lidingio who sold it to Lennart
Helenius, Sollentuna/Sweden keeping it for the next 16 years. It was registered
under the license plate number JPN 543. |
In the early nineties it was bought by the next German owner Werner Nolden,
Mönchengladbach, registered in Germany with the license plate number MG-W-
246. Mr. Nolden commissoned up from 1995 a complete body off restoration
taking the whole car apart. This is documented by the restoration report listing
all the works which had been carried out. In this time it had been decided to
repaint the car from Blu Dino Metalizzato into Rosso which would have been a
shame in our days but was unfortunately normal in the late eighties and early
nineties where each Ferrari needed to be red. |
It changed hands the last time in Germany being with the next owner for 15
years. Luckily it was chosen to have it serviced at one of our favourite Ferrari
workshops of Rothe Automobiltechnik based in Hamburg. Dieter Rothe is
definitely one of the most experienced Ferrari mechanics in Germany and well
known for his perfect work. |
In 2012 the new onwer of our car commissioned a rebuilt of the engine and
gearbox which ended up with an invoice of near to 50.000,- Euros. Since then
the car was only frequently used with a mere 3000 km after its total engine and
gearbox rebuilt. |
After our latest test drive it is difficult to imagine that a Dino GT could drive and
sound better than our car - thanks to the great work of Rothe Automobiltechnik. |
This is really great fun to drive a Dino GT at its best technical condition. |
