The car spent most of its life on the West Coast before it came in 1988 to a
Florida based Ferrari enthusiast. It received in 1988 its first renovation in order
to be shown on the FCA National Concourse in Atlanta/Georgia. By this it is said
that the engine had been overhauled, the car had been stripped to bare metal
to receive a new perfect show condition paint and the suspension had been
rebuilt as well. As the result of the major effort it won a Best in Class trophy on
the FCA National Concourse which shows that this Daytona had been always in
fantastic condition. It is reported that it had an overall mileage of appr. 40 000
mls when a new German owner bought it in Dec. 1991 on the Kruse Auction in
Miami/FL. After the auction the car has been imported into Germany in
early 1992.
This will be confirmed by the outstanding original condition of the interior. It still
has its mouse hair dashboard in unbelievable unmolested near to new condition
which is difficult to find on Daytonas. The interior is in marvellous original
condition which corresponds with the mileage.
The engine compartment looks as well very clean and there is not any single
item missing which has been originally delivered to a US Daytona. The engine
runs very nice having lots of torque. Before we purchased this Daytona the
preowner commissioned a new service to the engine in order to have it perfect.
We really like this Daytona with its low mileage and its wonderful preserved
original condition. If someone adores originality this is the Daytona to go for.
