The 365 GTB/4 Daytona has been delivered through the Swiss Ferrari distributor |
SAVAF/CH to its first Geneva based owner W. Hofer in 1970. |
Before its delivery to the first owner Ferrari decided to use the car in its glorious
colour combination of Giallo Fly and nero interior as the show stopper at the
Geneva Salon Ferrari stand. It was presented side by side with the phenomenal |
Pininfarina design sculpture 512 S Modulo (SN 1046) and the 512 S Berlinetta in |
Rosso Corsa (SN 1048). |
The Daytona was kept in the garage of the first owner until 1985 when it
changed hands the first time. Later in 1993 it was offered to us when the
odometer was showing an overall mileage of near to 50.000 km. |
It found a new home in Germany with Dr. Gert Schleicher in Berlin who
commissioned us to carry out all the necessary work. In the end we had nearly
restored the whole car including bodywork, new paint job and a complete engine
rebuilt. The archive is showing lots of pictures and invoices documenting the
early work. In that time it has shown an over all mileage of 65 500 km. |
In 2001 we bought the car from our friend Gert and sold it to the well known
Munich based Ferrari collector and secretary of the Ferrari Club Germany
Matthias Ficht. Due to his always growing collection Matthias decided to find a
new home for his beloved Geneva Salon show car. The car left his premesis with
now appr. 74.000 km on the odometer. |
The car went through us again to its last and fifth over all owner who decided to
sell it after nearly 16 years of his ownership. In the meantime the car was
always carefully driven and maintained which is shown by a large file of invoices
accompanying the car. |
After the car arrived the fourth time in our company we decided that it would be
a brave idea to start a second warm up lap for an restoration of its bodywork
and this time as well the gearbox. It received a spectacular new paint job in its
original Giallo Fly by keeping its wonderful original and preserved interior with
today 77 500 km. |
Needless to say that it runs, looks and drives perfectly. |
I would like to remind the true enthusiast to take a quick look to this Plexiglass
365 GTB/4 Daytona. There are not that many really interesting Daytona with a
Geneva Salon history, European delivery and only few Swiss and German based
owners with an original mileage and a complete history file full of documenting
invoices. | |
