This 212 Export Berlinetta # 0096 E is one of the most beautiful handmade |
masterpieces ever made by Vignale. This car is an unique item and very
important car of the early Ferrari history. It has the most important race career
of the 212 Export and was the most successful Ferrari in private hands in 1951
and 1952. It is shown and pictured in the 1951 and 1952 Ferrari year books. |
This is the "very best" 212 Export in existence talking about its most beautiful
design as a "One Off", best race pedigree with amazing results, complete
history, full matching numbers according to its Foglio Montaggio, original
bodywork with its French Blue matching colour and its high level restoration. |
Unbelievable is the fact that this Ferrari icon has an incredible race history
without any race accidents and still having its original engine, gearbox,
differential and aluminum body. This is more than difficult to locate in the
Ferrari world. |
|
First delivered to France to the famous early Ferrari racer Jacques Peron. It does |
also have a breathtaking race history with a 1st O.A. in the Ralley du Maroc
1951, 2nd O.A. in the first Tour de France in 1951 and last but not least 9th
O.A. in Le Mans 1951. Beside this it shows another ten first places which are
shown below. |
It has been restored to the highest possible standard for Pebble Beach in the
late nineties by famous and well known names in the Ferrari world. The
technique has been restored in the US by San Francisco based Ferrari specialist
Nino Epifani and the original bodywork has been overhauled by the most famous
workshop in Italy of Dino Cognolato. |
The later history shows famous names out of the Ferrari world which have shown
this 212 Export Vignale Berlinetta successfully in the major Concourse as Pebble
Beach, Meadow Brook, Cavallino Classic or Concorso d'Eleganza Villa
d'Este. Some of them liked to drive it more than once in the famous Mille Miglia,
Tour de France, Colorado Grand, Monterey Historic Races or Rallye du Maroc
Classic where it was always working faultlessly. |
This is definitely the "number one" 212 Export Berlinetta and should find a new
home in one of the famous Ferrari collections. |
